Pat Carlton,

Pat has always had an interest in natural history and painting. She has taken in and nursed injured birds and animals throughout her life. These interests stem back to her school days, when she worked at a local animal viewing centre, which is now closed.
At School in Thanet Pat obtained a Distinction for Art, which bought about a scholarship to Margate College of Art.
However Pat found little time for painting until her family grew up. Then around 1990, Pat started again and soon joined the newly formed Wildlife Artists Society, where much experience was gained.
Pat Carlton has exhibited at the, Westminster Gallery in London, Hewlett’s Wildlife Park, Port Lympne Wildlife Park, Banham Zoo, London Zoo, Arundel Wildlife Trust, Booth Museum at Brighton, Nature in Art at Gloucester, Evegate Galleries in Kent, Birds Birds Birds in Kent (since they opened in June 2001 till they closed in March 2013 being one of their top three selling artists each year), and sold her first painting excepted into the excellent NEWA exhibition on here first attempt and has exhibited at various local venues.
Pat has been chairperson for one of the local art groups she has supported and regularly passes on her knowledge at art class.
Pat works mostly in Acrylics but also enjoys other mediums. Whence when asked on a T.V. interview a question about her paintings her reply took the form off “My love of birds and wildlife, I am told, shows though in the subject matter of my paintings. ”
